Accrington Stanley Community Trust are delighted to have been awarded £15,000 funding from the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust’s Force for Change programme.
The funding will be used to deliver the Armed Forces project in Hyndburn, based at the £3.5m Stanley Sports Hub. There will be a number of different events and activities planned for 2024/25 to engage with the Veterans community and their families.
Rhian Sabatino, Head of Community Engagement at Accrington Stanley Community Trust said: ‘’we’re looking forward to delivering this new project thanks to funding secured from the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust. We plan to expand our current veterans provision to engage with even more people in our local community.’’
The Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust awards grants that support the Armed Forces community.
They’re both a charity and a Non-Departmental Public Body, or NDPB. They deliver high impact programmes, including administration of the £10 million Armed Forces Covenant Fund, each year.
The Armed Forces Covenant Fund has four broad funding themes now and in future years.
- Non-core healthcare services for veterans.
- Removing barriers to family life.
- Extra support, both in and after Service, for those that need help.
- Measures to integrate military and civilian communities and allow the Armed Forces community to participate as citizens.
They also work with HM Government to run other funding programmes that have a positive impact on Armed Forces communities.
