ASFC Engage
We are delighted to announce that we will be starting a brand new weekly sports session for children and young people with a wide range of disabilities aged 11-18.
Thanks to funding from Sport England, ASFC Engage provides an hour of completely free multi sports activities for young people with disabilities and it will be held indoors at Stanley Sports Hub. Activities included at the sessions will be table tennis, dodgeball, boccia, curling, Tri-golf, hockey and many more. There will also be space available for parents and carers to grab a brew while they wait!
This project will provide a wide variety of sports activities for young people in the area with additional needs. It will cater for those with SEN, physical disabilities and poor mental health. We adopt a ‘come and try it’ approach for all young people with additional needs. The project will be aimed at young people aged 11-18
We successfully run several sessions a week for adults with disabilities and this new project means we now have something to offer younger members of the community who may struggle to access mainstream sport on a regular basis.
The sessions will be held every Wednesday 5:30pm-6:30pm at Stanley Sports hub, Thorneyholme Road, Accrington, BB5 6BD.
The project is completely free, however we ask you to fill out this form to allow us to plan sessions accordingly…
