Adult Disability football

Since 2010, we have brought a weekly Disability football session to the local community and it has been a consistent success ever since its inception. Providing an hour of football including matches, games and coaching drills, the session is for all 16+ players of any ability or impairment so either if you want to come down for a bit of fun or a competitive kickabout, there’s something for everyone!
Accrington Stanley Community Trust’s Head of Sport, Lee Walsh, is excited about the project “The weekly disability football sessions are giving disabled people the opportunity to play football and socialise in a friendly environment. This project has been running since 2010 and we are delighted with the progress it has made”

This specifically designed project works with individuals with a range of physical and learning disabilities. We have an excellent reputation for caring and inspiring disabled people. All of our disability football sessions are led by staff that are experienced and confident in working with people with all types of disabilities. The sessions have enabled many people to take part in activities which will improve their confidence and self-esteem.

Adam Hartley is a very enthusiastic regular member of sessions who has been attending for approximately 10 years. Explaining his reasons for such consistent attendance, Adam explains: I’ve been coming to these sessions for a long time and I enjoy them because I’ve met new friends, score goals and win games.”
Sessions are charged at £5 and there is no need to pre book, simply turn up and enjoy an hour of fun.
