Military Veterans
We are delighted to offer a programme for miltary veterans in the local Hyndburn area. Thanks to funding from the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust amd their Force for Chaneg funding we are able to offer a monthly Saturday breakfast club and weekly social/football event, free of charge for all military veterans in our area.
Veterans Breakfast – Last Saturday of every month – 10.30am-12pm at Stanley Sports Hub.
Veterans Football – Every Friday – 6.30pm-8pm at Stanley Sports Hub.
Armed Forces Covenant Fund: Force for Change programme:
Through the Force for Change programme, we fund projects which make a real difference to Armed Forces communities locally. We will support projects that offer support to Armed Forces communities to help with needs that may not have been addressed in the past. This can also include funding for pilot projects; or to try new ways of offering local support. It can also include projects that build on earlier work that you have done.
The funding has allowed us to offer these activities completely free of charge and we encourage all military veterans and serving personnel to come and get involved.
We are continuously looking to grow our programmes and are always open to ideas, if you feel like you would like to join us or have ideas on how we can improve please don’t hesitate to contact us.
‘‘ It’s great being able to hold the breakfast Club at Stanley Sports Hub on the last Saturday morning of the month. Seeing more veterans attend and socialise with like minded people is fantastic.
For those veterans that would like to socialise and have a kick about can now join in our veterans football session on a Friday evening. ‘
